Dear Readers,
Thank you for all your support. It means the world to me. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to create stories. Most of them I stored in my head. Finally, in my late twenties, my mother convinced me to start writing them down. I have a particular fascination with Folklore and Mythology, so the Magik Collector was an extremely fun book for me.
I received a BA in English Literature from Rutgers University, and a Masters in Teaching from Fordham University. I truly believe that my education and life experiences have made me the person I am today...and shaped the stories I tell.
Apart from writing, I have a variety of interests. Some of my favorite things to do are...reading, traveling, dancing, and horseback riding. Most of all, I love spending time with my husband and three children.

QUESTIONS FOR COLLEEN
What is the best part about being an author?
C.C.: My favorite thing about being an author is creating stories and seeing where they lead me. I love experiencing the journey the characters go through.
What inspired you to write this series?
C.C.: My mother always encouraged me to write. Mix that with a love of the fantasy genre and The Magik Collector is a story that I have been creating for years.
How do you prepare to write a book?
C.C.: When I get a new idea, I try to get in the mind of the characters... see what they see, feel what they feel. The characters are the heart of any novel. If I can understand their actions, reasons, and emotions...everything else falls into place.
How do you get past writers block?
C.C.: I usually take a break for a day and observe the world. Something as simple as a street sign can inspire me. I find that when I look too hard for something, it feels forced.
Advice for aspiring writers?
C.C.: Keep writing... you never know where it will take you! If I had stopped at the first idea that led nowhere, I would never have finished The Magik Collector.
